Job Description:
Accounting
Prepare and review AP and AR entries and support the accounting team as necessary, including bill entry, bill payments, sales invoices, and daily cash receipts such as cash, checks, wire transfers, and credit cards in the system.
Prepare and transmit bank deposits.
Maintain bank accounts by monitoring transactions, balances, and outstanding or pending items.
Monitor and process credit card payments and adjustments.
Prepare and review employee expense reports.
Manage customer collections and follow up on overdue accounts.
Gather necessary information to set up check, ACH and wire transfer activities.
Reconcile bank statements by comparing statements with the general ledger.
Post and review journal entries.
Independently manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
Coordinate and process tax payments in a timely and accurate manner.
Gather data for compliance and reporting tasks, including 1099 and use tax information.
Communicate and cooperate with external CPAs regarding closing, tax-related, and annual audit matters.
Communicate and coordinate with the Japan headquarters regarding accounting and tax-related matters.
Administrative/HR
Greets visitors and direct them to designated personnel; provides general supports to visitors.
Responds and directs telephone calls; takes or transfers messages as necessary.
Maintains office supplies and equipment; refills supply and plans for repairs as necessary.
Arranges hotel, airline, rental car and taxi reservations for management and guests from abroad.
Communicates with third party vendors.
Sends mail and packages; Receives, sorts and distributes daily mail to appropriate personnel.
Periodically prepares various administrative reports for management.
Sorts and maintains in files received data and source documents.
Makes appointments, coordinates meetings, and schedules conference rooms for management.
Performs data entry and scan documents.
Assists in resolving any administrative problems.
Run company’s errands when necessary.
Suggests management for office improvement ideas.
Supports management in any administrative/HR related work and special duties that are assigned by the management.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent relavant experience
5+ years of full cycle accounting experience including month end close
Japanese language skills preferred
