Title: Japanese Bilingual Purchasing Coordinator Temp

Hours: Mon – Fri 8AM – 5PM
Pay: 20 – 26/hr.
Job Description:
- Coordinates with the department manager and colleagues to manage relationships with suppliers, ensuring product quality, timely delivery, and adherence to contracts.
Issues purchase orders to suppliers - Assists department manager to set up stock numbers for new items and products
- Works with sales and warehouse departments to identify customer needs and preferences
- Researches and develops new products by tasting and evaluating samples, visiting suppliers, and consulting with sales/warehouse departments.
- Works with sister companies and affiliates to process and ship orders to their locations
- Collaborates with the department manager and colleagues to negotiate bulk discounts based on the expected quantities of the entire group.
- Counts inventory when the inventory numbers are inconsistent with the numbers reported by warehouse.
- Assists with annual Food Expo preparations
- Attends Company events and functions outside of normal working hours
Job Requirements
- Business level English – Read/write/speak/listen required
- Business level Japanese – Read/write/speak/listen required
- Maintains a positive attitude
- Able to work independently and as a team
- Able to adapt to frequent changes in assignments and workload
- Passes the Sake Adviser course within 1 year of employment
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree in business preferred
- 2+ years of purchasing experience preferred
