Job Description:
- Talent Acquisitions & On-Site Hiring Support
- Lead full-cycle recruitment for hourly, supervisory, and management roles across multiple locations.
- Visit units to conduct on-site hiring events, interviews, and community recruiting outreach.
- Build strong pipelines for high-turnover and new-store opening roles.
- Partner with Unit Managers to understand staffing needs and ensure decisions align with Company hiring standards.
- Create job postings, screen candidates, conduct interviews, and coordinate hiring decisions.
- Track recruiting metrics (time-to-fill, source effectiveness, offer acceptance rate).
- Work with local universities, community organizations, and job fairs to strengthen talent pipelines.
- Support store openings by coordinating hiring, orientation, and onboarding.
- Onboarding & HR Operations
- Coordinate pre-employment steps including background checks, I-9 verification, and onboarding documentation.
- Support and occasionally lead new-hire orientation sessions.
- Maintain accurate HRIS records and assist with employee file compliance.
- Collaborate with payroll and benefits teams to resolve employee questions.
- Assist with scheduling, onboarding logistics, and new store support.
- People Support & Policy Guidance
- Serve as a point of contact for Unit Managers on HR processes, hiring best practices, and employee life cycle questions.
- Provide guidance on consistent interview practices, documentation, and employment law basics (wage & hour, meal/rest periods, non-discrimination, etc.).
- Serve as a point of contact for employee relations issues for the units.
Job Requirements:
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with frontline staff, managers, and senior leadership.
- Bilingual in Japanese and English.
- Experience in restaurant operations, hospitality management, or multi-unit operations.
- Strong experience with fast-paced, high-volume hiring environments.
- Experience in Japanese restaurants or the food wholesale industry.
- Experience supporting new store openings or pre-openings activities.
- Prior multi-location or franchised operations experience.
- This role includes visits to restaurant locations, including kitchen areas and active service environments
- Travel within Southern California is required; domestic travel may be needed depending on business needs.
