Pay Range: $110,000/year

Job Description
- Serve as the internal legal point of contact for U.S. operations
- Review, manage, and administer commercial contracts, including: Vendor and service agreements, NDAs, Operational and corporate contracts
- Provide first-level legal judgment on routine matters, including: Employee disciplinary actions (non-executive level)
- Performance improvement processes
- Contractual risk assessment
- Coordinate and manage external counsel for:
- Employment law matters
- Corporate governance
- Regulatory compliance
- Support corporate governance and internal documentation
- Identify legal risks and propose practical mitigation strategies
- Work closely with HR, Finance, and Operations teams
- Facilitate communication between U.S. operations and Japan HQ
- Translate legal concepts and documentation between
- English and Japanese stakeholders
- Other duties as required
Job Requirements
- 4–7 years of experience in in-house legal, law firm, or corporate legal/compliance roles
- Strong understanding of U.S. commercial and employment law concepts
- Experience working with external counsel
- Business-level English required
- Japanese language proficiency preferred
- Attorney license not required (but a plus)
