Job Description
- Maintains a personnel structure and staffing level to accomplish the warehouse and distribution mission in an effective and efficient manner.
- Interviews and recommends applicants for hire as warehouse associates and/or drivers.
- Plans and coordinates work, trains, motivates, monitors, and evaluates performance of warehouse associates/drivers; ensures their ability to safely operate material handling equipment to move materials to and from storage configurations; counsels, records and disciplines as necessary.
- Monitors material handling from receiving to distribution and ensures being compliant with applicable federal, state, local regulatory procedures, including DOT, OSHA, or IFTA.
- Ensures materials are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety protocols.
- Oversees the rotation of inventories within the warehouse.
- Responsible for day-to-day delivery planning for truck drivers, including delivery routes and loading.
- Resolves discrepancies with accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports.
- Monitors the flow of paperwork from receiving to inventory control and assures timely data entry.
- Research material handling equipment and cooperates with purchasing department to ensure procurement quality in terms of the equipment performance, safety, reliability and cost.
- Responsible for all truck and forklift maintenance; well, documents the maintenance history for governmental or internal audits.
- Responsible for and participates in semiannual inventory count (possibly on a weekend).
- Attend Company events and functions outside of normal working hours.
Requirements
- Business level English – Read/write/speak/listen
- Other language such as Spanish, Korean, Japanese, Chinese preferred
- Box truck driving experiences preferred
- Clean driving records in the latest 3 years
- Forklift certified is required
- Solid Knowledge in logistics and trucking, particularly in DOT regulations and IFTA.
- Experienced in working with the 3rd party trucking company such as Penske or Ryder.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and afterhours as needed
- High school Diploma required, B.S. or B.A. in business management, industrial management or related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years of warehousing experience required; 10+ years preferred
- Minimum 3 years of managerial experience required; 5+ years preferred
- Knowledge of Japanese foods and sakes preferred
- Food industry experience highly preferred.
