Job Description

• Maintains a personnel structure and staffing level to accomplish the warehouse and distribution mission in an effective and efficient manner.
• Interviews and recommends applicants for hire as warehouse associates and/or drivers.
• Plans and coordinates work, trains, motivates, monitors, and evaluates performance of warehouse associates/drivers; ensures their ability to safely operate material handling equipment to move materials to and from storage configurations; counsels, records and disciplines as necessary.
• Monitors material handling from receiving to distribution and ensures being compliant with applicable federal, state, local regulatory procedures, including DOT, OSHA, or IFTA.
• Ensures materials are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety protocols.
• Oversees the rotation of inventories within the warehouse.
• Responsible for day-to-day delivery planning for truck drivers, including delivery routes and loading.
• Resolves discrepancies with accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports.
• Monitors the flow of paperwork from receiving to inventory control and assures timely data entry.
• Research material handling equipment and cooperates with purchasing department to ensure procurement quality in terms of the equipment performance, safety, reliability and cost.
• Responsible for all truck and forklift maintenance; well, documents the maintenance history for governmental or internal audits.
• Responsible for and participates in semiannual inventory count (possibly on a weekend).
• Attend Company events and functions outside of normal working hours.

Requirements

• Business level English – Read/write/speak/listen
• Other language such as Spanish, Korean, Japanese, Chinese preferred
• Box truck driving experiences preferred
• Clean driving records in the latest 3 years
• Forklift certified is required
• Solid Knowledge in logistics and trucking, particularly in DOT regulations and IFTA.
• Experienced in working with the 3rd party trucking company such as Penske or Ryder.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and afterhours as needed
• High school Diploma required, B.S. or B.A. in business management, industrial management or related field preferred
• Minimum 5 years of warehousing experience required; 10+ years preferred
• Minimum 3 years of managerial experience required; 5+ years preferred
• Knowledge of Japanese foods and sakes preferred
• Food industry experience highly preferred.
